Spectrasonics Trilogy Module VSTi 1.2 is a virtual instrument plugin that was introduced in 2002 as the world's first and only dedicated bass module. It is based on the UVI engine, which allows for high-quality sound and performance. Trilogy features three types of bass sounds: acoustic, electric and synth, each with dual layers and multi-dynamic velocity switching. Trilogy also offers innovative features such as true staccato sample-mapping, Minimoog style legato triggering, built-in auditioning system, easy patch management, multimode resonant filters, matrix-style modulation routing, four LFOs and more. Trilogy is compatible with macOS and Windows, and supports VST, Audio Units and RTAS formats.
Acoustic Bass
Trilogy's acoustic bass section contains over 1GB of samples from various upright basses, including a rare Italian flat-back model from the 1700s, a French flat-back model from the 1800s, a German flat-back model from the 1900s and a modern American plywood model. The samples cover different playing techniques such as fingered, picked, bowed, slapped and muted. Trilogy also provides realistic articulations such as slides, hammer-ons, pull-offs, harmonics and vibrato. The acoustic bass sounds can be further shaped by adjusting the tone, volume, pan, tuning, envelope and filter parameters for each layer.

Electric Bass
Trilogy's electric bass section contains over 1GB of samples from various electric basses, including classic models such as Fender Jazz Bass, Fender Precision Bass, Music Man Stingray, Rickenbacker 4003 and Gibson EB-0. The samples cover different playing techniques such as fingered, picked, slapped and muted. Trilogy also provides realistic articulations such as slides, hammer-ons, pull-offs, harmonics and vibrato. The electric bass sounds can be further shaped by adjusting the tone, volume, pan, tuning, envelope and filter parameters for each layer.
Synth Bass
Trilogy's synth bass section contains over 1GB of samples from various analog and digital synthesizers, including legendary models such as Moog Minimoog, Moog Taurus, Roland TB-303, Roland SH-101, Oberheim OB-Xa and Yamaha DX7. The samples cover different waveforms such as sawtooth, square, pulse, triangle and sine. Trilogy also provides raw waveforms that can be used to create custom synth bass sounds using the oscillator section. The synth bass sounds can be further shaped by adjusting the tone, volume, pan, tuning, envelope and filter parameters for each layer.
